Working pensioners in Russia will receive an increase in payments from August 1, 2025, its maximum amount will be 437 rubles. Alexander Safonov, a professor at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, Doctor of Economics, told about this on July 21.

"Starting from August 1, 2025, traditionally, the Social Fund of the Russian Federation will automatically recalculate insurance pensions for working pensioners. The minimum increase will be 145 rubles 69 kopecks, the maximum possible increase will be about 437 rubles," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

According to Safonov, the pension will be increased for those Russians who have worked officially over the past year and for whom employers have paid insurance premiums. The amount of this increase will depend on the number of pension points accumulated over the past year.

The professor stressed that there is a legally established limit of no more than three points, even if more were earned in a year.

In addition, pensioners who have turned 80 have the right to receive an increased fixed payment to an insurance pension upon reaching the age, it is doubled. The amount of the payment reaches about 17.8 thousand rubles, Safonov added.

He pointed out that since the beginning of the year, this category of citizens will also receive a "care allowance" of about 1.3 thousand rubles, excluding regional coefficients.

The Doctor of Economics also said that in August there will be an adjustment of monthly supplements to the insurance pensions of miners and flight crew members. The amount of payments will depend on the income of the special funds to which employers in these industries contribute.

Starting in 2026, the Russian Federation wants to give tax incentives to businesses that contribute to long-term savings of employees.

On the eve of the Russian State Duma deputy from the United Russia party Alexei Govyrin said that the pensions of Russian military pensioners will be indexed by 7.6% from October 1, 2025. He stressed that pension payments of Rosgvardiya employees, representatives of internal affairs bodies, employees of the Federal Penitentiary Service and employees of Customs and Courier services will be indexed in the same amount.
