Residents of Yakutia gave more than 1.6 million rubles to fraudsters

During the day in Yakutia, three people were injured as a result of cyberbullying. The total damage exceeded 1.6 million rubles.

According to YakutiaMedia news agency, a 37-year-old woman saw an offer of additional earnings through investments on the Internet. The victim transferred all savings in the amount of 118 thousand rubles to outside accounts.

When communicating with a teacher at a local university, the fraudster posed as an employee of the Central Bank. A 64-year-old man transferred about 1 million rubles to outside accounts.

The fraudsters communicated with the 64-year-old pensioner on behalf of Roskomnadzor. The woman lost 520 thousand rubles.

The police have opened a criminal case on each fact.

In Moscow, a 74-year-old pensioner spent several months communicating with scammers and lost over 20 million rubles, as well as her apartment. The scammers posed as employees of Rosfinmonitoring and persuaded them to make transfers under the pretext of an "FSB operation."
