English, Chinese and Japanese became the most in demand among Russian employers in the first half of 2025. This was reported to Izvestia on July 21 by analysts of Avito Services and Avito Jobs, having studied the data on the platforms.

English accounts for 53% of vacancies requiring knowledge of a foreign language. Chinese is needed in 10% of job offers, Japanese in 9%. They are most often looking for translators, teachers, purchasing specialists, sales managers, and babysitters.

Korean (8%) and Italian (7%) complete the top five.

According to experts, English remains one of the most popular languages studied. However, Japanese turned out to be the leader in demand growth — in the first half of 2025, students began to search for it 18% more often compared to the same period in 2024.

In addition, Russians have become more interested in Armenian (+14%) and Spanish (+9%). Italian and French were also among the top five popular languages, with interest in them growing by 9% and 6%, respectively.

On July 8, Izvestia got acquainted with the research results of analysts at the IT company true.code, who found that 29% of companies face employee resistance when introducing new technologies. At the same time, experts found that businesses are showing a high interest in artificial intelligence: 30% of companies want to implement these technologies in the near future, and 17% are already using them.
