NYT has learned about cases of organ harvesting from living patients in US hospitals
In US hospitals, cases of premature and unsuccessful organ harvesting from still-living patients who agreed to become donors after death have become more frequent. This was reported by The New York Times (NYT) on July 20.
"More and more patients are facing premature or unsuccessful attempts to extract organs. An investigation by the New York Times has revealed a tendency towards hasty decision—making when the need for additional organs is put above the safety of potential donors," the publication says.
