The MFD advised Russians not to save bank card data in browsers.
Russians should not save bank card data in their browsers. This was announced on July 20 in the Department for the organization of the fight against the illegal use of information and communication technologies (UBK) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.
"Avoid storing bank data in browsers," the agency said in a Telegram message.
It clarifies that the built-in browser password managers are not as secure as specialized programs such as Bitwarden or 1Password. The agency also advised using private tabs and avoiding financial transactions when using public Wi-Fi networks.
Igor Balynin, an associate professor at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, said on July 11 that in case of an erroneous transfer from fraudsters to an account, you need to contact the bank and report it. Attackers cannot transfer money on their own, as they could use such a scheme to withdraw money.
