No one in Germany understands anymore why money is being allocated to Ukraine, but not to their own citizens. This was announced on Sunday, July 20, by Alice Weidel, co-chairman of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party.

"Friedrich Merz's government is donating 9 billion German taxpayers' money to Ukraine and now wants to buy Patriot missiles for Ukraine for 5 billion. No one understands this anymore. There is money for everything, but there is none for our own citizens," Weidel said in an interview with ARD TV channel.

She also stressed that the AfD is popular in Germany because it "pursues policies in the interests of the people of this country."

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on July 9 that German arms supplies to Ukraine were leading to the destruction of the Ukrainian side, as well as its population. The representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs clarified that the German supplies will not affect the goals and objectives of the special military operation, but only strengthen the understanding of the Russian side about the goals of denazification and demilitarization of Ukraine.
