A carsharing driver killed a pedestrian in Nizhny Novgorod
In Nizhny Novgorod, a carsharing driver, while intoxicated, killed a pedestrian. This was reported on July 20 in the Telegram channel of the regional State Traffic Inspectorate.
According to preliminary data, the 26-year-old Chery Tiggo driver drove into the oncoming lane on Lenin Avenue, then onto the sidewalk, where he hit a 35-year-old man.
"The pedestrian died on the spot before the ambulance arrived," the ministry said.
The footage shows that after the collision, the car continued to move, crashing into a tree and the facade of an apartment building. The driver is currently detained.
Earlier in the day, a minor girl died in an accident in the Trans-Baikal Territory. The car flew off the highway and overturned. The driver of the Toyota Platz lost control, as a result of which the foreign car slid into a ditch. A 15-year-old passenger suffered fatal injuries. Three more people were taken to the hospital.
