Forest fire near Energodar extinguished
The forest fire that broke out in the area of Energodar was extinguished, the fire did not affect the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) in any way. This was announced on July 20 by the Governor of the Zaporizhia region Evgeny Balitsky.
According to him, the fire area reached 4.5 hectares. No injuries were found as a result of the fire.
"The fire in the forest area had nothing to do with the territory of the nuclear power plant and had no effect on the operation of the station," Balitsky wrote on his Telegram channel.
As the governor noted, the NPP is operating in accordance with the regular regime. Technological processes and radiation background are normal.
Earlier, on July 19, the press service of the NPP reported a fire in the forest between the village of Michurina and Energodar. The fire did not threaten the power facility.
