- Reuters reported a sharp increase in exports of rare earth magnets from China to the United States.
Shipments of rare earth magnets from China to the United States in June 2025 increased sixfold compared to the previous month. This was reported by the Reuters news agency on July 20.
"Exports of rare earth magnets from China to the United States increased by more than six times in June compared with May, which was the result of a sharp recovery in supplies of essential minerals needed for electric vehicles and wind turbines," the material says.
According to Reuters, this became possible after the conclusion of the Sino-American trade agreement.
According to the agency, shipments to the United States from China, the world's largest producer of rare earth magnets, increased to 353 tons in June 2025, which is 660% more than in May.
On June 11, US President Donald Trump announced that the US-China trade deal was almost completed, and it only remained to receive final approval from the leaders of both countries. He noted that rare earth metals will be supplied to Washington by Beijing. At the same time, the United States will receive 55% of tariffs, and China — 10%.
