A 13-year-old boy was killed by lightning in the Republic of Tyva.
In the Dzun-Khemchik district of the Republic of Tyva, a 13-year-old teenager was killed by lightning. This was reported on July 20 in the Investigative Department (SU) of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia for the republic.
"The teenager was at the shepherd's camp in the village of Kyzyl-Kozhagar, where he helped relatives look after the horses. On July 19, <...> he and his cousin went to bring the herd. While traveling to the shepherd's camp, the 13-year—old's body was struck by lightning, after which he died on the spot," the department's Telegram channel says.
At the moment, investigators are investigating the cause of the teenager's death. For this purpose, a forensic medical examination was ordered, the scene was examined and witnesses were interviewed. In accordance with the results of the verification, a procedural decision will be made.
Earlier, on July 19, it was reported that a shepherd and several animals died in the Shailyk-Syrt tract in Karachay-Cherkessia as a result of a lightning discharge. It is specified that the prosecutor's office of the republic took control of the establishment of the circumstances of the incident.
