The administration of the American leader Donald Trump has studied the contracts concluded with the company of billionaire Elon Musk SpaceX, and came to the conclusion that termination of many of them is impossible. This was reported by The Wall Street Journal on July 19, citing sources.

"Representatives of the administration have come to the conclusion that they cannot terminate most of these contracts, as they are critically important for the Ministry of Defense and NASA," the publication says.

The interlocutors of the publication explained that the purpose of the audit was to identify excessive expenses under the company's multibillion-dollar contracts with the government. At the same time, the initial assessment only emphasized SpaceX's dominant position as the world's leading rocket launch operator and a key provider of satellite Internet.

On July 13, Reuters reported that the White House had instructed the U.S. Department of Defense and the National Aeronautics Administration and NASA to study information about SpaceX's contracts for the production of space technology. It was noted that these measures were taken to prepare retaliatory actions against Musk.
