"Five residents were missing after they were swept away by a swift current in Kaphen, Gyeonggi Province, where a torrential downpour hit in the early morning of the 20th," the publication says.

It is specified that the disaster management authorities have confirmed the disappearance of four residents. The daily precipitation as of 09:30 (03:30 Moscow time) was 197.5 mm.

The Yonhap news agency, citing the central headquarters for emergency Situations and security, reported on July 17 that at least four people were killed and over 1.3 thousand were evacuated due to heavy rains that hit South Korea. It was clarified that due to the increase in damage, the weather danger level was raised to the highest.
