A small boat collided with an aircraft carrier in San Diego harbor

A small pleasure boat crashed into the aircraft carrier USS Midway in San Diego Harbor. This was announced on July 20 by the WarshipCam platform.

"The aircraft carrier USS Midway was hit by a pleasure boat. The details are still unclear, but it appears to have been a glancing blow," a message in X (ex. Twitter).

According to The San Diego Union Tribune, the captain of the boat was arrested on suspicion of entering the water under the influence of alcohol. As noted by Sergeant Armando Rodriguez, the aircraft carrier did not receive significant damage as a result of the collision.

The Lao Dong newspaper reported on July 19 that a tourist ship had been sunk in the Halong Bay of the South China Sea in northern Vietnam. There were 48 passengers and five crew members on board. Later, VnExpress clarified that 34 people died as a result of the incident.
