The new language Ombudsman of Ukraine, Elena Ivanovskaya, demanded that the special status of the Russian language in the country's constitution be abolished as an "instrument of destabilization," the Ukrainian newspaper writes on July 19.Страна.иа ".

"It is necessary to eliminate symbolic inequality in legislation — in particular, to abolish the special status of the Russian language," the newspaper quoted her as saying on the Telegram channel.

According to her, in the context of the ongoing conflict, the Russian language in Ukraine is allegedly "not only a means of communication, but also an instrument of destabilization" of the situation in the country.

On January 30, Taras Kremen, the former Language Ombudsman of Ukraine, noted with regret that Russian-speaking experts continue to appear on the airwaves of individual TV channels. Later, on March 12, a new bill was introduced to the parliament to ban the Russian language in schools.
