The victory of Russian athlete Alexander Maltsev at the World Synchronized Swimming Championships in Singapore was stunning. This was announced on July 19 by the press service of the International Federation of Water Sports (World Aquatics).

"The first winner of the 2025 World Cup in synchronized swimming is Alexander Maltsev in the solo technical program with a stunning score of 251.7133 points," reads a message posted on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

Thus, Maltsev became the first Russian athlete to win gold at the current World Championships in Singapore.

Maltsev had won earlier in the day. The Spaniard Dennis Gonzalez Boneu took the second place with a score of 241.1667 points, the third was the representative of Mexico Diego Villalobos Carrillo, who scored 238.1600 points.
