A resident of the liberated Kurakhovo in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), in an interview with Izvestia, told about life in a basement with dogs and six neighbors under fire from the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

"The dog did not leave the basement, he was afraid of shelling. He was lying under me when there was shelling," said Andrey, a resident of Kurakhovo, in an interview with Izvestia correspondent Yevgeny Bykovsky.

The man noted that he once went for a walk with his dog and almost lost the dog due to an attack from the Ukrainian Armed Forces. When he heard the whistle of the shell, he only managed to call out to the dog, and at the last moment she ran into the shelter after the owner.

"There were so many drones here that it was dangerous to go out. For example, I have a brother in this white house. It took me 40 minutes to get from that house to mine and I wasn't afraid," he added.

In addition, the man stressed that the Ukrainian militants were in the neighboring basement and changed into civilian clothes, abandoning their military uniforms, while retreating.

On June 17, residents of Donetsk, who survived a new attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, said they had heard at least six strikes on the city, after the first one, glass immediately began to fly out of apartment windows.
