India is going to produce its first chip in 2025.
India will release its first self-made semiconductor chip this year. This was announced on Saturday, July 19, by the country's Minister of Electronics and Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnav, speaking at a conference in Hyderabad.
"The first chip manufactured in India will be released in 2025," Sputnik India quoted Vaishnava as saying.
According to the minister, the country is ready to take a prominent place in the global semiconductor market. India has already approved the construction of six chip manufacturing plants.
On July 17, Indian Minister of Science and Technology Jitendra Singh announced that the next Indian astronaut will go into space on a ship built in the republic. He also stated that India is working on building its own space station and is open to conducting foreign experiments and receiving astronauts. According to him, it should be operational by 2035.
