Passengers who arrived on a flight to Gelendzhik on July 19 shared their impressions of the new airport and the changes in the city.

"Everything was very comfortable during loading and unloading," said one of the passengers.

According to him, if we had gone by car, we would have spent a lot of time in traffic jams.

Psychologist Irina Berezina said that people come to Gelendzhik to recover, "to pump themselves up."

Izvestia correspondent Yaroslav Bogat noted that the opening of Gelendzhik Airport is, without exaggeration, a grandiose event for the whole country. Already in the sky, the first flight to Gelendzhik has become the most popular flight tracking application. The plane, which landed in a modern, technologically sophisticated terminal, was watched all over the world. He was greeted with applause in Gelendzhik itself. Locals, tourists, and spotters lined up on the observation deck. Dmitry Lobanov drove 200 km for a few good shots.

"Now this is a very long—awaited event," Lobanov said.

It is reported that the new airport has become not just an attraction, but an event that has radically changed the life of the resort city of Gelendzhik, turning it into one of the most popular and promising places on the entire Black Sea coast. For example, the demand for hotel reservations a few days before the launch of flights increased by a third.

"In Gelendzhik, we are very happy about this event. Therefore, we hope that the flow of tourists will increase even more. And today we feel after, let's say, this news. And we hope this will continue," said Artem Gulyan, the head of one of the city's hotels.

Gelendzhik has also completed the largest yacht marina in Russia. It will accommodate at least 300 yachts of different sizes. There is almost 15 km of picturesque promenade with hundreds of cafes, restaurants and a selection of beaches for every taste. A little higher, there are mountains in the arms of a vine.

"We really liked the huge vineyards," one of the tourists shared her impressions.

Another capital of Russia, Vinnaya, will soon appear here. The unique project of the ROSSIYA Joint—Stock Bank Bely Mys is an enoteca with the largest collection, conceptual restaurants, a museum, laboratories, and an educational complex. Earlier, passengers and crew of the first flight to Gelendzhik from the capital told Izvestia about their impressions of the flight. Andrey Krakhmalev, the flight crew commander, noted that the flight required special preparation.

On the same day, Krasnodar Territory Governor Veniamin Kondratiev announced that Gelendzhik Airport would be able to increase passenger traffic at least twice in 2026. He noted that the passengers who arrived on the first flight from Moscow expressed positive emotions from the flight and their meeting at the airport.
