Moscow is unaware of the trilateral meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin, American leader Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping in September. This was announced on July 19 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
So he commented on the relevant publication of The Times newspaper, which stated that Xi Jinping intends to arrange a trilateral meeting in China with the participation of the Russian and American presidents within the framework of the summit in September.
"We don't know anything about the possibility of such a meeting," he told TASS.
On July 11, Bloomberg, citing US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, reported that Trump and Xi Jinping plan to meet for talks. It was clarified that the dates of the meeting of the leaders of the two states are currently being coordinated.
In February, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Putin plans to visit China in August and September. According to him, the Russian leader's visit will be timed to coincide with the 80th anniversary of the victory over Japanese militarism and the end of World War II.
