India conducted successful test launches of two short-range ballistic missiles Prithvi-II and Agni-I. This was announced on July 18 by the country's Defense Ministry.

"The Prithvi-II and Agni-I missiles were launched from the Chandipur test site, off the coast of Odisha," The Times of India newspaper quoted the agency as saying.

It is noted that during the launches, all the technical characteristics of the missiles were confirmed. The range of the Prithvi-II, which is equipped with an anti-missile evasion system, is up to 350 km, and the Agni—I is up to 700 km.

On July 14, Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh announced that at least 14 countries had expressed interest in acquiring the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile, manufactured at the Russian-Indian enterprise of the same name. According to him, interest in the rocket increased after the Sindur operation.
