An outbreak of acute intestinal infection was detected in the children's health camp "Eaglet" in the Pugachevsky district of the Saratov region. This was announced on July 18 by the press service of the regional department of Rospotrebnadzor.

"Specialists from the Department of Rospotrebnadzor in the Saratov region are conducting an epidemiological investigation in connection with the registration of cases of acute intestinal infection (AKI) among children and staff at the children's health camp Orlyonok in the Pugachevsky municipal district," the Telegram channel said.

The exact number of cases has not yet been reported. During the investigation, experts took samples of drinking water and water from open reservoirs, as well as samples of food raw materials, foodstuffs and ready meals.

According to the agency, the contact children "were separated," they were under medical supervision, and their illness is mild.

The camp and the district hospital were given orders to carry out anti-epidemic and preventive measures, including disinfection.

The Ministry of Health of the Sverdlovsk region reported on July 15 that 12 people were hospitalized in Yekaterinburg after poisoning in a local cafe "Versailles". It was noted that according to the results of the tests, salmonellosis was confirmed in the laboratory. Later, the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation opened a criminal case on the fact of mass poisoning.
