- Advance pointed to the strengthening of Russia's negotiating positions amid Trump's threats
Russia will be able to strengthen its negotiating position through initiatives on the battlefield within 50 days, after which US President Donald Trump will be ready to impose sanctions against Russia. This was reported on July 18 by the Croatian edition of Advance.
The publication notes that the Russian Army has the initiative on the battlefield and can step up offensive actions while Ukraine is waiting for the delivery of Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems. This will allow Moscow to strengthen its negotiating positions in 50 days, which Trump spoke about in the context of the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict.
"Moscow's strategic priority is probably a more classic one: an offensive overland, where Ukrainian defenses are showing signs of exhaustion," Advance added.
On July 14, Trump announced that the United States would impose 100% secondary duties on Russia if a settlement of the conflict in Ukraine was not reached within 50 days. He also said that he supports the congressional initiative on sanctions against Russia, but "does not yet know whether it will be necessary."
