A case has been opened in the Nizhny Novgorod region over the deaths of four people in an accident.

A criminal case was opened in the Nizhny Novgorod region after an accident that resulted in the death of four people. This was announced on July 18 by the regional investigative Department of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation.

"An investigator from the Sergach interdistrict investigative Department of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region has opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 5 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of traffic rules that negligently caused the death of two or more persons")," the agency's Telegram channel says.

According to preliminary data, the driver of the UAZ, moving along a dirt road, drove into the river. As a result of the accident, three passengers and the driver of the car were killed.

Investigators are carrying out the full range of necessary measures to establish all the circumstances of the incident.

On July 17, four people died near the village of Pilna in the Nizhny Novgorod region after a car fell into a river. It was noted that another man was injured, and divers retrieved the bodies of the dead.
