Some foods can increase sweating, especially during the hot season. Irina Lyalina, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the State University of Education, told Izvestia about this on July 18.

According to her, increased sweating is often associated not only with weather conditions, but also with dietary habits. Certain foods cause a so—called thermogenic effect - when they are broken down, the body releases heat, and this, in turn, provokes sweating.

Lyalina attributed salty and spicy foods, processed foods, sweets, caffeinated and high-protein foods to the group of sweating triggers.

"If you name specific products, then among them are legumes, pepper, garlic, coriander, ginger, chocolate, coffee, pork, soda and energy drinks, all kinds of tea and matcha, as well as mate," the specialist noted.

In addition, she recommended adjusting the diet: reduce the consumption of the above products, as well as add more greens, green vegetables and citrus fruits to the menu. At the same time, fruits and vegetables with a high sugar content — red and yellow — with a tendency to sweating, it is better to limit.

"To prevent hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), it is recommended to carefully observe hygiene rules, stop smoking and drinking alcohol, adhere to proper nutrition, and reduce stress factors," the expert concluded.

Polina Lepilova, a general practitioner and neurologist at the Sberbank Health medical company, told Izvestia on June 19 that excessive sweating, or hyperhidrosis, can occur even at rest, without obvious causes such as fever or physical exertion. To reduce sweating, she advised wearing clothes made from natural materials.
