The Supreme Court of the Luhansk People's Republic (LNR) has convicted Irina Koroleva, a citizen of Ukraine, of espionage. She was sentenced to 15 years in prison to serve her sentence in a general regime penal colony. This was announced on July 18 by the regional prosecutor's office in its Telegram channel.

"The court found that between September 2022 and March 2023, Koroleva collected information about the locations of Russian military personnel in the territory of the Anthracite district of the LPR and transmitted the data to the Ukrainian special services," the report says.

A criminal case was opened into the incident in accordance with Article 276 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Espionage"). It is specified that the court found the woman guilty.

On July 17, the FSB Directorate for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region reported that an agent of the Ukrainian special services had been detained, collecting information about the Baltic Fleet base and military units of the Leningrad Military District. It was clarified that the attacker planned to undermine Russia's defense capability.
