The first scheduled flight took off from Gelendzhik to Moscow
The first regular flight to Moscow in three years took off from Gelendzhik Airport. Footage of the departure of the flight on July 18 is published by Izvestia.
According to the online scoreboard, the Aeroflot aircraft will arrive at Sheremetyevo Airport in Moscow at 19:25 Moscow time.
Earlier that day, passengers and crew of the first flight to Gelendzhik told Izvestia about their impressions of the flight. Andrey Krakhmalev, the flight crew commander, noted that the flight required special preparation, as the routes to Gelendzhik had not been operated for a long time.
On July 18, the first scheduled flight in several years took off from Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport to Gelendzhik. The Airbus A321 aircraft of the Russian airline Aeroflot left the airport at 11:34 Moscow time.
Prior to this, it was reported that the opening of the airport in Gelendzhik caused a stir among tourists. Tickets for the first and next flights were sold out after the start of sales. Tour operators note that the demand for bookings in Gelendzhik has increased by 30% in the last week alone.
