The Daily Mail reported intestinal illness of more than 140 people on the cruise ship
More than 140 people have suffered from gastrointestinal illness on board a cruise ship bound from Los Angeles to Mexico. This was reported by the Daily Mail on July 18.
"Seven crew members and 134 passengers aboard Navigator of the Seas reported symptoms such as vomiting, stomach cramps and diarrhea during a week-long cruise from Los Angeles to Mexico," the publication says.
According to the newspaper, the exact cause of the outbreak remains unknown, and health experts are investigating it.
"In order to maintain an environment on board our ships that promotes the highest level of health and safety, we implement strict cleaning procedures, many of which significantly exceed the recommendations of public health authorities," said representatives of the Royal Caribbean Group, which organizes the cruise.
The company has already taken enhanced cleaning measures on the ship. It is specified that the infected passengers were isolated.
The BirGün portal reported on July 15 that about 60 people suffered food poisoning after a wedding in the Turkish city of Urfa. It was noted that after the event, the guests went home and began complaining of abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting.
