Summary of the special operation in Ukraine for the week

A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. Units of the North group of forces liberated the village of Degtyarnoye in the Kharkiv region. During the week, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) lost more than 1,180 militants, 17 armored combat vehicles, 47 vehicles, 28 field artillery guns, and six ammunition and materiel depots.

"Units of the Southern Group of Forces continued to advance into the depth of the enemy's defenses and liberated the Petrovka settlement of the Donetsk People's Republic... During the week, the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in this area amounted to over 1,040 military personnel and an armored car. 26 vehicles, 13 field artillery guns, six electronic warfare stations, and 17 ammunition depots were destroyed," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

In addition, during the week, the Russian Armed Forces liberated the settlements of Nikolaevka, Mayak, Popov Yar, Karl Marx, Voskresenka, Novokhatskoye in the DPR, as well as Malinovka and Kamenskoye in the Zaporizhia region.

The Russian army carried out five group strikes with air-based weapons and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) against enterprises of the military-industrial complex of Ukraine, infrastructure facilities of military airfields, assembly and storage sites for UAVs and unmanned boats, fuel depots and military equipment, territorial recruitment centers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and temporary deployment points of Ukrainian armed forces, nationalists and foreign mercenaries.

Air defense systems, in turn, shot down two US-made HIMARS multiple rocket launchers, two Neptune long-range guided missiles, 28 aerial bombs and 1,387 aircraft-type drones in a week.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, since the beginning of the special operation, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost 664 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 70,353 UAVs, 619 anti-aircraft missile systems, 24,249 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,577 multiple rocket launchers, 27,529 field artillery and mortars, 38,351 special vehicles.
