Over the past day, 328 road accidents have occurred on Russian roads, in which 32 people were killed and 412 injured. 29 of the dead were passengers and drivers. This was reported to Izvestia on July 18 by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

15 accidents involving buses were recorded, in which one person was killed, 24 more road users, including four children, needed medical help. Eight bus accidents were caused by traffic violations committed by drivers of other vehicles.

As a result of 72 accidents, 30 of which occurred at pedestrian crossings and 42 outside their area of operation, three pedestrians were killed, and 71 more were injured in various degrees of severity. Among the injured were 17 child pedestrians, 10 of whom were injured while crossing the roadway in designated areas.

52 accidents involving minors were also registered, in which 57 young road users were injured, including 23 passengers, four cyclists and 10 motor transport drivers. One child passenger was killed.

So, in the Kurgan region, on a regional highway in the evening, a 21-year-old passenger car driver was distracted from driving and drove off the road, followed by a rollover. As a result of the accident, a one-year-old girl passenger died, who was in the back seat without a child restraint in her mother's arms. Two more passengers of the car were injured and ended up in the hospital. The culprit of the car accident fled the scene, but was later tracked down by police officers. It turned out that he did not have a driver's license.

On the eve of the weekend, the State Traffic Inspectorate called on citizens who have not been trained in driving schools and have not received the right to drive vehicles in accordance with the established procedure, or who have been deprived of such a right, to refrain from trying to get behind the wheel and drive onto public roads. By reckless actions, they put not only personal life and health in real danger, but also other road users, including their passengers.

Parents' attention was drawn to the strict observance of the rules for transporting children using car seats, car seats and other child restraints appropriate to the age, height and weight of the transported child, as well as their correct location and attachment inside the cabin. Transportation of children under the age of 7 years should only be carried out using child restraints. Between the ages of 7 and 12, transportation is possible using child restraints or seat belts, and in the front seat of a passenger car — only in child restraints.

"We remind motorists that when driving a car with child passengers in the cabin, they should be doubly attentive and careful not to create emergency situations. Do not be distracted while driving, do not exceed the set speed limit, observe a safe side interval and distance between vehicles, and refrain from risky driving, overtaking, and entering oncoming traffic, even in permitted areas. Always leave yourself plenty of time to react adequately to a possible change in the traffic situation at any moment," said Police Colonel Sergey Hrantskevich, head of the Department for the Promotion of Road Safety and Prevention of child traffic injuries at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.

The day before, it was reported that a bill had been submitted to the State Duma on the introduction of fines for exceeding the average speed monitored by traffic cameras in automatic mode. It is proposed to add the concept of the average speed of a vehicle to Article 12.9 of the Administrative Code ("Exceeding the established speed of movement").
