Employees of the Federal Customs Service (FCS) detained a woman with a pistol and a bank check for $138 thousand in Vnukovo. This was announced on July 18 in the press service of the department.

It is specified that the traveler arrived in Russia from the USA in transit through Turkey. During customs control, experts found an American Colt Combat Commander 45 caliber self-loading pistol in her suitcase. In addition, during a personal search, the woman showed a bank check for $ 138 thousand.

According to her, she did not know about the need to declare, because she has dual citizenship and resides in the United States on a permanent basis.

"A criminal case has been opened under Part 1.1 of Article 226.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Smuggling of firearms") and a preventive measure in the form of detention has been chosen," follows from the publication of the FCS on the website.

Earlier, on July 7, at Sheremetyevo airport, FCS officers found a shipment of gun sights and brackets for their attachment totaling 29 million rubles. According to the passenger, he did not know about the need to declare the sights and brackets. Upon the incident, an administrative violation case was initiated under the article on non-declaration of goods.
