In St. Petersburg, a girl was stung by a venomous scorpion, which she and her family accidentally brought back from vacation. This was reported to Izvestia on July 18 by the mother of the victim, Mazuda.
According to the woman, her daughter's health is not in danger now, she is in the hospital, but the child should be discharged in the near future.
The family brought the scorpion from Tajikistan, where they were on vacation with relatives. It ended up in a bag with the girl's belongings.
"We have a big house there and a big yard. As soon as they returned, she began to put her things away, and this guest crawled out. <...> She ran to me, crying, and said that some little fly had bitten her. The scorpion was small," Mazuda said.
The woman noted that in the hospital the girl was given painkillers, had a glucose drip and was monitored for one night. The child's condition is assessed as "good", there are no poisoning or complications.
On June 5, doctors at Ramenskoye Hospital rescued a 14-year-old girl after being bitten by a snake. It is specified that the patient spent two days in intensive care in a serious condition, where she was injected with a special serum against snake venom and underwent detoxification therapy, after which the girl was discharged.
