A captured militant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), Sergei Korol, said that the command in the troops used physical violence against soldiers and insults if they did not follow orders. Footage of the Ukrainian was published on July 18 by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

"The company officer usually did not know how to talk normally to people — always shouting, shouting with mats, name-calling. Communication with his subordinates was at a low level. Company officer for not following orders <...> i could still beat up the personnel — calmly. It was normal for him," he shared.

The 52-year-old prisoner also stated that he was mobilized back in 2023. At first, he was promised that he would not be sent to a combat unit due to illness and unfitness for service. However, later the King was assigned to the Kharkov region — to the border, where his main occupation was digging trenches and dugouts.

"I thought they wouldn't pick me up. But I ended up in the Kharkiv region on the border. I believe that this [territory] is still a combat unit, although I was promised logistical ones. I was deceived," the militant said.

A soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was captured by the Russian army on July 2 of this year during an assault. In addition, the King noted that the Russian military treats him well in captivity and keeps him in good conditions.

The day before, a prisoner of war of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Andrei Kachur, said that the Ukrainian command had left him and other militants without food and water for seven days. According to the prisoner, they had to drink rainwater in such conditions.
