Hungary could potentially withdraw from the European Union (EU), as this union has turned from an economic into a political one. This was announced on July 17 by Prime Minister Viktor Orban.

"I can promise Hungarian voters one thing. If I see that it (EU membership — Ed.) is no longer worth it, I will speak out. But if there is such a point, I can't even see it on the horizon yet. Today, it is much more profitable for Hungary to be inside the European Union," he said in an interview with the Ultrahang Internet portal.
