A tourist was injured due to a bear attack in Kamchatka

In Kamchatka, a bear attacked a tourist from Saratov sleeping in a tent. This was announced on July 18 by the Regional Minister of Emergency Situations Sergey Lebedev.

"It was a restless night today. At midnight, we were informed that a bear had attacked a 43-year-old tourist from Saratov in the area of the Mutnovskaya Geothermal Power Plant (Geothermal power Plant. — Ed.)," he wrote on his page on the VKontakte social network.

According to Lebedev, the woman received first aid. Then, as specified, the victim was taken to the hospital, where she underwent surgery.

The press service of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation of the Kamchatka Territory stated that the condition of the tourist, who received multiple bitten lacerations and a fracture, is severe. The woman underwent surgery and is now in intensive care.

Lebedev noted that according to eyewitnesses, an animal is currently being searched in the area of the incident. According to him, the route of the tourist group, which included Saratovchanka, was not registered with the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation.

The investigative department of the regional department of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia organized a procedural check on the incident.

Oleg Kryuchkov, adviser to the head of the Republic of Crimea, reported on June 22 that Oleg Zubkov, director of the Taigan Lviv Park, had been attacked by a lion. The republican Ministry of Health reported that Zubkov underwent surgery at the Belgorod Central Hospital. Later, on July 5, Zubkov announced that he had returned to his job.
