The orthopedist told about the choice of shoes for the child
Oleg Chucharin, head of the consultative and diagnostic polyclinic, orthopedic traumatologist, told on Thursday, July 17, how to buy the right shoes for the baby. He warned that the wrong choice of shoes could harm a child.
"The main criteria for choosing shoes for children under the age of three are natural materials, a soft lining, and a closed and rounded toe wider than the heel," Radio 1 quotes the specialist.
According to the orthopedist, it is worth choosing a large, dense sole with a grooved surface that bends well in the toe part. Shoes should also be of sufficient height to fix the ankle joint and have a medium-stiff back.
"Choose a heel 5-7 mm high, and 1-1.5 cm by the age of two. Be sure to check for a supinator to support the arch of the foot in the correct position. Shoes should be fixed on the foot with laces or Velcro fasteners," Chucharin said, adding that it is not worth buying shoes for a child to grow, as too much stock can create discomfort.
He explained that to correctly measure a child's foot, you need to use a piece of paper. You should circle the foot, and add 5-7 mm to the resulting figures. In this case, it is better to take measurements in the evening, since by the end of the day the leg may swell slightly and increase in size.
On July 15, Olga Borisova, Associate Professor of the Department of Corporate Finance and Corporate Governance at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, said that you should not buy clothes and shoes in advance when preparing for school, as you may face the problem that the child has not grown to the purchased size or has outgrown it.
Earlier, on July 9th, 360.ru He wrote that parents who are going to go on a trip with their children should carefully approach the choice of equipment. It is noted that it is mandatory to have a change of clothes and comfortable shoes: one pair of leather boots or sneakers, the second pair of rubber boots for wet weather.
In February, Alexey Yurasov, professor of the Department of Nanoelectronics at RTU MIREA, Doctor of Physico-Mathematical Sciences, told RT that special attention should be paid to children's shoes in winter. The thick sole will help minimize heat loss through the feet. The preferred materials for the sole of shoes are rubber or polyurethane, which have low thermal conductivity. At the same time, the inner coating of the shoe should be warm and breathable to provide comfort and protection from the cold.
