More than 380 tons of watermelons and melons have been harvested in Crimea
An active harvest of melons and watermelons has begun in Crimea. To date, 380 tons of melons have already been harvested and this figure is constantly growing, the press service of the regional Ministry of Agriculture reported on Thursday, July 17.
About 505 hectares have been allocated for melons this season, writes IA SevastopolMedia. Most of the fields are located in Krasnoperekopsky, Krasnogvardeysky and Razdolnensky districts.
The Crimean Ministry of Agriculture actively supports Russian vegetable growing. In 20025 alone, the industry received almost 22.5 million rubles for the development of local fields.
Earlier, Izvestia told what path the watermelon had to go through before it received official recognition from chefs around the world. Now striped berry is increasingly used as a seasonal ingredient in dishes of the author's cuisine.
