Two teenagers were arrested for preparing a terrorist attack in North Ossetia
Two teenagers from the Republic of North Ossetia—Alania were detained for preparing a terrorist act against law enforcement officers. This was reported on July 18 in the Republican Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation.
"A criminal case is being investigated against two 15-year-old local residents. They are accused of preparing for a terrorist act committed by a group of individuals by prior agreement and undergoing training in order to carry out terrorist activities," said David Tavgazov, senior assistant to the head of the investigative department of the Republican Investigative Committee.
According to investigators, from June 2024 to May 2025, the defendants received training, acquired specialized literature, instructions, and components for making an improvised explosive device in order to commit a terrorist attack against law enforcement officers.
"After that, in May 2025, the defendants purchased components for making an improvised explosive device in the city of Mozdok and stored them at their places of residence for the purpose of subsequently committing a terrorist act against law enforcement officers," the department added.
It was not possible to realize the criminal intent due to the prompt actions of law enforcement officers. The intruders were detained and taken into custody. It is specified that a complex of investigative measures is currently being carried out in the criminal case to establish all the circumstances of the incident.
On June 30, the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Volgograd Region reported the suppression of the activities of four teenagers who were part of an extremist community created by a 17-year-old local resident. It was clarified that he called on his supporters to commit violent acts against representatives of various religious and national groups.
