The European Union (EU) is undermining French agriculture due to the duty-free import of Ukrainian agricultural products. This was announced on Thursday, July 17, by the leader of the French Patriots party, Florian Philippot.

According to the politician, the EU is "opening its doors wide" for Ukrainian sugar produced using pesticides that are banned in Europe. At the same time, he noted, French sugar factories are closing, and the industry's revenues are falling.

"100 thousand tons of Ukrainian sugar were imported duty-free for the current campaign! In France, six sugar factories have already closed for this reason," Philippot wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

He called on citizens to "rise up" against such measures and demand France's withdrawal from the EU in order to "protect national interests and jobs."

On June 30, Philippot said that the French authorities were doing the wrong thing by allocating billions to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and the EU and reducing medical support for their citizens. According to him, at a time when Ukraine is receiving money, Thomas Fathom, director of the French National Health Insurance Fund, announced that cancer would no longer be taken care of "during the remission phases."
