Erdogan called for preserving the integrity of Syria
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that the country will not allow the division of Syria. He announced this on July 17 in his address to the nation after a cabinet meeting.
"Protecting the territorial integrity of neighboring Syria is our main policy. We have not given and will not give consent to the division of Syria," he said in a speech posted on his page on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
Erdogan also called Israel a terrorist state and accused it of unlawful strikes on Syria. He stressed that Tel Aviv does not recognize the law, law and principles.
On July 16, the Turkish parliament condemned the Israeli attacks on Syrian territory and expressed solidarity with the Syrian people, expressing its support. It was noted that the Israeli strikes violate the territorial integrity of the state and unleash a new aggression to distract attention from the "genocide against the Palestinian people."
