The Russian Foreign Ministry has protested to the Japanese Embassy in Moscow over the exercises near the borders of the Russian Federation.

A strong protest has been filed with the Japanese Embassy in Moscow in connection with the participation of the Japanese air self-defense Forces in the large-scale exercises of the US Armed Forces Resolute Force Pacific near the borders of Russia. This was reported on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry on July 17.

"The Japanese Embassy in Moscow has strongly protested the participation of the air self—defense forces in the large-scale exercises of the US Armed Forces Resolute Force Pacific, which will be held on July 9 — August 4, including at military training bases located in close proximity to the Far Eastern borders of the Russian Federation," the statement said.
