Telegram plans to open a representative office in Russia
Telegram messenger will open a representative office in Russia. The corresponding entry appeared in the Roskomnadzor registry.
According to the agency, the messenger is considering the creation of a branch, the opening of a representative office or the establishment of a Russian legal entity. The company itself is registered in the British Virgin Islands.
At the moment, the process is at the approval stage. The timing of decision-making is not reported. At the same time, the company has already fulfilled the requirements for opening a personal account on the agency's website, as well as an electronic form on its resources for contacting Russian users.
Earlier, on July 9, the Tagansky District Court of Moscow fined the Telegram messenger for failing to fulfill its duties as the owner of the social network. It was clarified that the court imposed an administrative fine of 7 million rubles.
