The retired Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal has been appointed Minister of Defense of the country. This was reported on July 17 by the Ukrainian edition "Страна.иа ".

"The Rada has appointed former Prime Minister Shmygal as Minister of Defense," the Telegram channel said in a statement.

It is noted that he promised to provide for all soldiers, increase the production of weapons to 40-50% and adjust the work of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

A day earlier, the Verkhovna Rada dismissed Prime Minister of Ukraine Shmygal. The legislation of the state stipulates that the entire government resigns with it. Yulia Sviridenko became the new Prime Minister.
