Three beaches were declared unsuitable for recreation in the Pskov region

Rospotrebnadzor has declared three urban beaches in the Pskov region unsuitable for recreation. The composition of the water does not meet the standards.

The assessment of water quality in reservoirs was carried out according to virological, microbiological, chemical and parasitological indicators. According to the Pskov News feed, microbiological abnormalities were detected in the Velikaya River near the Pskov city beach and near the beach in the Ovishche area, as well as in the Lovat River near the city beach in Velikiye Luki.

Rospotrebnadzor sent the results of laboratory tests to local governments to limit the exploitation of beaches.

Dermatologists remind you that swimming in reservoirs that have not been tested and do not meet safety requirements is fraught with various problems. For example, you can get infected with cercariasis or "bather's itch." Itching, redness and rash are caused by cercariae, larvae of trematodes that live in stagnant water. Poisoning with cyanobacteria toxins is also dangerous.
