- The Russian Foreign Ministry declared its readiness to cooperate in space with all countries.
Russia is ready to cooperate in outer space with all interested parties. This was stated on July 17 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, at a briefing.
According to her, Moscow continues the traditions of Russian cosmonautics and is open to constructive interaction with all participants in space activities. Zakharova stressed that the accumulated experience makes it possible to develop mutually beneficial and equal cooperation without closed alliances and unilateral standards.
According to Zakharova, the key condition for international projects in this area should remain the preservation of outer space. Russia has consistently opposed an arms race in orbit and intends to seek a ban on the deployment of any type of weapon in outer space.
"It is important to unite international efforts in favor of the early start of negotiations on the prevention of an arms race in outer space," Zakharova said.
Mikhail Kovalchuk, President of the Kurchatov Institute National Research Center, told Izvestia on June 20 that cooperation between Russia and China in the scientific field is "moving at full speed." On May 9, the two countries signed a number of agreements in the field of nuclear energy, lunar exploration and space exploration.
