In total, over 30 new schools and kindergartens will open in Moscow by the beginning of the upcoming academic year. This was announced by the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin.

According to him, the construction of most of the buildings has already been completed. In particular, a new school in Yuzhny Medvedkov is ready, designed for 1.1 thousand students from grades 1 to 11.

"The new academic building will be part of the school complex No. 967," the mayor wrote on his Telegram channel. "The three floors have everything for comfortable and safe education for children, including a barrier—free environment."

An important element of the building was the event hall, equipped with wall and ceiling acoustic panels. In addition, in addition to universal and specialized classrooms, the school provides "laboratory and research complexes, a media library, gyms and much more," Sobyanin said.

There is a sports area on the school grounds. This is a stadium with a running track and a jumping pit, as well as playgrounds for football, basketball, volleyball, gymnastics and passing the TRP standards.

The mayor clarified that schoolchildren from the building on Sukhonskaya Street, where modernization is to be carried out, will move to the new building. In addition, children living in the Polyarnaya 25 residential complex will study there, he added.

Earlier in July, Sobyanin announced that about 24,000 schoolchildren had become participants in the pre-professional holidays program in Moscow this year. As part of these intensive immersion programs, students get to know universities, gain more highly specialized knowledge, and practice using modern equipment. "This year, 34 universities have become partners of the program, where almost 400 shifts of pre—professional holidays took place - 50 more than last year," the mayor noted.
