The State Duma approved an increase in fines for failure to fulfill parenting duties

Deputies of the State Duma (State Duma) at the plenary session on Thursday, July 16, adopted immediately in the second and third readings a bill to increase fines for parents for improper performance of duties related to the maintenance, upbringing or education of children.

The fine increases for non-fulfillment or improper fulfillment by parents of their duties for the maintenance, upbringing, education, protection of the rights and interests of children. According to current regulations, such an offense can result in a warning or a fine of 100 to 500 rubles. The innovation increases the size of the fine, now it will range from 500 rubles to 2 thousand rubles.
