The Russian Chess Federation told about the women's tournament in Tbilisi

The Women's World Chess Cup is currently being held in Tbilisi. Alexander Tkachev, Executive Director of the Russian Chess Federation, announced this at a press conference at the Izvestia International Chess Center on July 17.

He clarified that at the moment, the second party has begun, in which Alexandra Lagno performs. Alexandra Goryachkina was also nominated for the candidates' tournament.

"14 medals have already been won at international adult competitions, six of which are gold. The children won 50 medals, of which 19 were gold," Tkachev said.

He noted that this sport is becoming an important tool of "soft power" in the international arena.
