Director Yuri Kara was a principled, talented and life-loving man. Theater and film actor Alexander Oleshko told Izvestia about this on July 17.

"His film "Tomorrow was the War" is an absolute cinematic masterpiece, which actually inscribed the name, biography and creative statement of Yuri Kara in golden letters in the history of our country and in the history of cinema," Oleshko said.

According to him, working with Kara was a great happiness. The director lived creatively, loved his country and worried about today and tomorrow.

"Just recently, in the fall, we celebrated his 70th birthday. And, of course, they wished him longevity, but fate decreed otherwise. It is necessary to say thank you to those people who really lived by creativity. He was just like that. Therefore, blessed memory and condolences to all those who knew and loved him," concluded the actor.

Soviet and Russian director Yuri Kara died at the age of 70 earlier that day. His death was announced by film journalist Natalia Bobrova.
