Uzbekistan hosts the international flag relay of the Intervision contest

On July 16, the flag of the International Music Competition "Intervision" arrived in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan. The solemn ceremony took place on Peoples' Friendship Square, where the motorcade with the flag was met by Shokhrukh Ganiev, a participant of the Intervision from Uzbekistan, a popular performer of national songs in the country.

The participants of the expedition "Journey to the Heart of Eurasia", which includes entrepreneurs, scientists, journalists and bloggers, took over the delivery of the Intervision flag along the Kyrgyzstan– Uzbekistan – Tajikistan route. The goals of the expedition are similar in spirit to the tasks of Intervision: strengthening ties, uniting cultural heritage, and promoting a friendly agenda in various fields, including the humanities, where music is an essential element. Together with the musician, the symbol of "Intervision" was greeted by his family, children, and parents. Along the way, the convoy was warmly welcomed by the residents of the city.

Accepting the flag from the hands of the captain of the rally, Shokhrukh Ganiev spoke about the most important values that this project carries: "Today we are meeting the flag of the Competition in one of the most symbolic and touching places in Tashkent – on Peoples' Friendship Square, at the monument to the family of the blacksmith Shaakhmed Shamakhmudov. During the Great Patriotic War, the Shamakhmudov family sheltered and adopted 15 orphaned and evacuated children in Tashkent. Here, where the memory of human kindness and the unity of peoples is alive, the power of music as a language capable of uniting hearts is especially clearly felt. It is a great honor for me to receive this flag. It is not just a symbol of the Competition, but a piece of the soul of all those who believe in the power of art, in the support of family, people and friends who walk with me along this path. I accept it with gratitude and pride."

Shokhrukh Ganiev signed his autograph on the flag and handed it over to the next participant of the Contest – to Tajikistan. The relay race started on July 7 in Bishkek: here, the participants of the Intervision from Kyrgyzstan, the Nomad trio, launched this symbolic project. The musicians from Kyrgyzstan received the honorary right to be the first to put their signatures on a unique artifact, as they became the first announced participants of the Competition from countries outside of Russia.

At the final stage, the flag will be delivered to Moscow by a performer from Tajikistan. The ceremonial handing over of the flag to all participants of the Intervision Contest will take place on September 12, 2025 at the Rossiya National Center.
