For six months, almost 100 thousand right-hand drive cars were imported into the Russian Federation.

From January to June 2025, 96.3 thousand right-hand drive vehicles were imported to Russia, including 1,186 cars under the age of three. Sergey Tselikov, director of the Autostat analytical agency, told about this in his Telegram channel on July 17.

The number of right-hand drive passenger cars in the Russian fleet amounted to 3.87 million units at the beginning of 2025. Of these, more than half are registered in the Far East — 1.99 million units. Another 1.43 million units. — in Siberia.

The share of right-hand drive in the Russian fleet at the beginning of the year was 8.2%. Separately, in the Far Eastern Federal District, it was 72%, and in the Siberian Federal District — 27%.

In the volume of imports of used cars in the first half of the year, the share was 52.4%. Last year it was 60.1%, and in 2021 it was 88%. In addition, 318 right-hand drive vehicles were resold in Russia during this period, the analyst estimated.

The ministry noted an increase in the import of right-hand drive vehicles to Russia and an increase in the main accident rates with their participation.
